Sovereign Herbs is an Afro Caribbean, Female owned and run, small scale farm located in The Hudson Valley, Germantown, NY. The culturally relevant herbs we grow serve our predominantly Black, Brown, and Latine neighbors in and around the Hudson Valley. We grow food for the communities at the Kingston Farmers Market, Multicultural BRIDGE, Columbia County Sanctuary Movement, Dutchess Outreach and The Broadway Bubble.
Our mission is to help build mutual aid and solidarity economies within the Kingston community with the pay it forward and donation models. And to grow our community of Black farmers and land stewards.
We encourage our customers to pay it forward to the communities in Kingston that lack access to fresh, locally grown, ancestral herbs. Some of the herbs we distribute free of charge include but are not limited to cilantro, thyme, papalo, culantro, huacatay, and epazote.
